I know the importance of keeping things in perspective. So, when I read an article about cancelling Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, I was floored! There is no reason to cancel Rudolph! He teaches kids about being different and accepting others for who they are. And that’s something we could all use more of during the holiday season.

Unfortunately, we now live in a society where people are looking for something to cancel. They feel we should suffer If it doesn’t reflect their views and beliefs. But guess what? Like the rest of us, they have a choice. They don’t have to watch, they can change the channel or quit the streaming service at anytime. Do you protest against Whole Foods because they are more expensive than others? No! You simply don’t shop there. That’s the beauty of freedom, the beauty of choice. So, with that said, here are 7 reasons NOT to cancel Rudolph the red nosed reindeer:

1. It’s a classic holiday movie that brings joy to millions of people, and, it has stood the test of time. That speaks volumes!

2. The songs are catchy and will get stuck in your head for weeks, in a good way, of course.

3. It’s the perfect feel-good movie to watch with family and friends

Some people believe that rudolph promotes bullying. So I ask, what about movies like Saw? They are violent and psychotic, yet, I don’t see anyone trying to cancel those types of movies. And you know why? Because we all have a choice. We don’t have to watch them. So, keep your Rudolphs alive and well – they make the holidays brighter for everyone involved!
